We have all seen the Great British Throw Down on TV, this is your chance to get your sleeves rolled up and start throwing your very own ceramic pots! Come individually or bring some friends, great fun but be prepared to get really messy!
For a fun, introductory 1hr taster session it is £15 which includes materials. Once it has dried out, your pot will be fired, this can take between 1 to 3 weeks depending on the size and thickness of your pot and how damp it is. If you would like to decorate and glaze your pot you will need to come back for another session but you can join any of our 'drop-in' sessions to do this, just check with us to make sure your pot has been fired and is ready to be glazed. There will be an additional charge of £10 to cover glazing and the essential second firing to complete the process giving your pot a wonderful shiny glass like finish. If you prefer to take your pot home to decorate this is fine too, you can use acrylics to paint at home adding a PVA glue wash to seal.
If you want to take it a bit further, improve your technique and follow a series of 1hr classes, these start at £20 per session for a four week course which is payable on or before your first session.
Please note that pot throwing sessions are not normally suitable for children under 8yrs.
