Mary enjoys making ceramics which reflect and are shaped by the contours and seasons of the Wiltshire countryside. A recurring motif in her work is based on the characteristic clumps of trees on the hill tops and along the Ridgeway. Her work is made on the potters wheel and includes a range of domestic ware including mugs, bowls and teapots with the landscape motif picked out in wax resist. She also likes the combination of wood and ceramic, incorporating the grain of the wood into unique landscapes to hang on the wall.
Mary exhibits her work with the Wagon Yard Artists in Marlborough but visits Eastcott Studios on Mondays and Sundays to give throwing lessons by appointment. If you would like to book a session with Mary, please complete a booking form stating which day you prefer and someone will contact you with more information. Mary also accepts commissions.
